Dr. Leigh Johnson is the Associate Director of the Institute for Translational Research and an Associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience. Dr. Johnson is an MPI of the HABS-HD study which is funded by the National Institute on Aging to examine the biological, social and environmental factors that impact brain aging among diverse communities.  She is  the Director of the ITR Clinical Trials Core of HSC at Fort Worth and site PI for the AHEAD 3-45 study and Benfo Team study. As the lead of the HABS HD Diversity and Outreach Core, she has extensive experience with recruitment of diverse populations into research . Dr Johnson has over 80 publications in aging, translational science, and precision medicine.  Her work   examines the link between depression and cognition, and women’s health.
